West Virginia Needs Mobile Sports Betting

West Virginia Needs Mobile Sports BettingWest Virginia has been making the news in the sports betting industry of late but not in a good way.  This is because sports bettors have been having difficulties with online gambling.  Thus, West Virginia Needs Mobile Sports Betting in order to keep up with the demand.

A few weeks ago, Wheeling Island and Mardi Gras Casino Sportsbook shut down their operation due to a contractual dispute.  According to their website, this is because of an issue with their sports betting software provider. Even though it is suppose to be a temporary situation, this has led bettors without any means to bet online.

In addition, the shutting down of 2 of the 5 sportsbook in West Virginia is also making lawmakers very upset.  This is because the shutdown came during March Madness which is one of the biggest sporting event in the nation. Thus, the state is missing out on millions of tax revenue from sports betting. Sports betting news analysts estimate that the state lost around $350,000 to $425,000 in gambling revenues because of it.

Bettors in West Virginia want More Mobile Betting Options

Even though three other sportsbook are currently taking bets in WV, they do not have a mobile application in place. Out of DraftKings, FanDuel and William Hill, only DraftKings is planning on going mobile.  However, they are still waiting to receive permission from West Virginia.

Several customers of Wheeling Island and Mardi Gras Casino Sportsbook have made their opinion very clear about their situation. They are not happy and it will be difficult for these sportsbook to regain the trust of their customers.

In addition, many of them are not willing to drive a few hours to place a bet at one of the physical sportsbooks.  Furthermore, several bettors have chosen to bet with their old bookie as they have an online presence.

Even before Wheeling Island and Mardi Gras Casino Sportsbook shut down, many bettors chose to remain with their bookies. This is because they have more betting options and unlike the other sportsbooks are able to bet on sports 24/7.
