ESPN is Partnering with Caesars Entertainment for Sports Betting Content

ESPN is starting to get serious about the sports betting market and this latest development shows just how much.  This is because according to a press release, ESPN is Partnering with Caesars Entertainment for Sports Betting Content.  Thus, Walt Disney Co’s ESPN will be providing sports betting and news content to U.S. casino operator Caesars Entertainment Corp.

In addition, the deal will also include the integration of data and branding from Caesar into programming from ESPN.  According to sports betting news outlets, the integration will be done within the coming weeks.

Ever since the Supreme Court overturned the 1992 federal ban on sports betting, companies have been expanding into sports betting. This is because the U.S. sports betting market has become a vast source of opportunities.  Thus, media companies want to profit from it and sports betting is now changing how we watch sports.

ESPN Sports Betting Studio on the Las Vegas Strip

Part of the deal includes establishing a sports betting studio on the Las Vegas Strip. Furthermore, the ESPN Sports Betting Studio will be built at the LINQ Hotel & Casino.  According to statements by ESPN and Caesar, they expect the sports betting studio to be ready in 2020.

Both companies want the studio to be the place to go for sports betting content in Las Vegas.  It will even include segments for the “Daily Wager” show, which is the first gambling show by ESPN. Many sports bettors are speculation on whether the Sports Betting Studio will also include wagering opportunities.

However, sports betting software companies believe that ESPN only wants to profit from their shows.  Therefore, they will not have direct involvement with gambling as that is why they made the deal with Caesar.

According to sources, the studio will also play a part in sports news coverage of events in Las Vegas. Therefore, the studio will be a great opportunity to showcase the Golden Knights and the new Raiders of Las Vegas.
