Sports Betting and the European Super League

Many sports fans and bettors are talking about the proposed European Super League. Will it happen soon? Will sports betting software be offering lines on the new league this year? There are so many questions and we still do not know if the league will even push through. In fact, since going public, interest on creating the breakaway league has largely diminished. For now, bookies are probably just taking bets on whether the league will push through or not.

The European Super League is made up of 12 clubs who wish to join this super league. You have Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham. Then you also have Atletico Madrid, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan planning to join. Despite the powerhouse lineup, majority of soccer fans are not in favor of this move.

The Latest on the European Super League

Sports Betting and the European Super LeagueIn less than 48 hours since the clubs’ announced their plans to leave the UEFA Champions League, everything crashed. Fans were making themselves heard in social media. Sportsbooks from all in one gambling services providers started taking wagers on the formation of the league, and athletes were all over the news. First to back out are the six English clubs (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham).

Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan soon announced they are backing out from the super club. AC Milan and Juventus followed suit. Now, unless Real Madrid and Barcelona want to play in a league on their own, then we will not be seeing any European Super League. While the clubs want to provide their fans with the best experience in football, the effort may not be worth it, especially without the Premier League Clubs joining. And with the ESL crashing in just a couple of days, things do not bode well for breakaway efforts from the clubs.
