Super Group Acquires Digital Gaming Corporation in an effort to enter the U.S. gambling market to increase their global reach. According to the latest gambling news, this is part of their effort to increase their global footprint. With this latest acquisition, the online sports betting and gaming company now has access to twelve U.S. states.
For those outside the gambling industry, Super Group (SGHC) is a holding company for top gambling businesses in the world. Furthermore, they are known for being the parent company of the Betway online sportsbook and Spin, a multi-brand online casino.
On the other hand, Digital Gaming Corporation (DGC) is a company that provides gambling software to the casino industry. Their main headquarters are in the UK and in Florida but provide their services on a global level.
The plan to acquire DGC by Super Group has been in the work since April of 2021. Even though it took a long time to finalize the acquisition. Both groups believe the wait was well worth it. Neal Menashe, CEO of Super Group, said they are happy to “officially welcome DGC into Super Group”. Furthermore, they look forward to working closely with their team.

Super Group currently operates in 23 countries across Europe, Africa and the Americas. Most sportsbooks that are popular in non-U.S. markets do not have licenses in the U.S. Therefore, this is a big opportunity for SGHC. This is because as DGC hold a license in 12 States and are currently in operation live in 8 of them.
At the moment, they are live in Iowa, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Virginia and Ohio. However, by first quarter of 2023, they expect Louisiana to join Arizona, Virginia and Ohio on their Sports Betting Platform.
In addition, last Sunday, DGC had the launch of their Betway brand in Ohio during NFL Sunday. This was done in partnership with Belterra Park.
